Surface
water quality has increasingly become an issue of
concern throughout California. The major
watersheds of the region are now facing the challenge
of addressing new water quality regulations known as
Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs). A TMDL is the
maximum amount of a pollutant that can be discharged
into a water body from all point and non-point sources
and still maintain water quality standards.
Under section 303(d) of the Federal Clean Water
Act, TMDLs must be developed for all water bodies that
do not meet water quality standards.
Our
stormwater experts utilize an iterative adaptive
management approach to achieving TMDL compliance.
